What can i do to eliminate motor "ticking"

My motor ticks alot, i mean the kind of ticking when the car is on and as throtle increases so does the ticking. Im pritty sure its the valves, could be the injectors, is there anything i can do to check what it is?

Any fluids or anything i can put in that will clean my valves?
I put a few fuel injector cleaners but none of them did anything.

The noise p!sses me off and it makes my car sound like a peice.

Any one else have this problem?
(i hope this isn't a sign that the motor is tierd and ready to die)

why don't you guys bring your cars to a mechanic like the rest of the world. have a PROFESSIONAL tell you wants wrong not some random name person online.

btw: in current correct english the word to/too/two is used like this

to- to as in where are you going to?
too- as in also, i too shall go with you
two- as in 2 apples, numerically

just incase there was a problem....

you guys are describing the injectors. Yes, they make a ticking noise under the hood. This is normal y'all.

Well, that I suppose is one of the draw backs to fuel injection.....I think its being blown out of proportion but oh well....I know that it is the injectors cause I too have wondered what the noise was. Petty noises aren't enough for me to complain about.....put some dynomat on the fire wall and you'll never hear it....

ya they make fancy dynomatt for your firewall nice and expensive too. throw some on your hood and get rid of the hood liner as well....should stop all your noises... god dynomat has got to be about 80% profit sales....

and if anyone asks why your engine is so loud(if you don't do the dynomat) say its the sound of performace. because if they don't realize why your engine is loud they will believe that statement!

edit:i can almost spell!

Yeah, so much speculation and really off-the-wall suggestions, when it is a known issue, there is a TSB regarding it, and it's a power brake check valve not valves, not timing chains, so on and so forth. This forum, same posts, over and over and over and over.

And this isnt a english class so who cares how you spell.

And i did take it to a proffesion mechanic and they told me everything is fine. and it could be the injectors witch he couldn't check.
The noise is pritty loud, if i even crack a window its just plain anoying

Can YOU search for all the past threads regarding this problem for all us mere mortals that don't have the ability to search? No? Didn't think so. Calm down bruh...

injectors dont make a noise so loud as to hear it from inside the car when every car reach a certain mileage the valves(the ones that open and close inside the engine) needs adjustment but in the max you don't turn a nut and thats is you need to take your car to a mechanic to have him measure each valve one by one and use shims to compensate the wear of the cams lobes is a 400+jobs where i live maybe less in u.s. and if anyone guessing why my writing is mess up is because im from puerto rico never live in the u.s. all the english i know is thanks to the u.s. army reserve

Maximus_PR where do you live in PR. I'm moving there in a few weeks and I'm taking my 98 Max SE 5spd with me. How does your car run in hot humid weather? I was in PR back in March and didn't see to many Maximas there. I

This probably isn't a good idea to do in a Max (never done it in mine), but in my older vehicles I've used a quart of ATF in the crankcase to help free sticky lifters/valves. Drain a quart of oil and add a quart of ATF and let the engine idle for about 10 minutes. Then change the oil, the noise problem usually goes away. ATF is a very powerfull degreaser/gum remover. I'm not sure of any reprocussions it would have on a modern engine though.

If it's the lifters or something in the valve train the ATF fluid may work. I spoke with a master Nissan tech about it a couple of years ago. He agreed and said the stuff keeps transmissions very clean and does work as a lubricant so it wouldn't hurt a thing. After I had my problem he suggested that I use 1/2 quart with every oil change and leave it in there, keep using 1/2 quart with every oil change. He's been a master tech for 20 years plus so I assume he knows what he's talkimng about. I called him about a radio once. He knew which wire color was in what year and told me exactly what wires to use etc. I have no doubt he knows what he's doing, 300k plus on his 88 maxima. Drives it daily.

I have heard this before but wasnt sure if it was a joke, you know like the "make your windows roll back up by holding panic botton " type joke.

Have you done it? has anyone here treid this?
Also one of my friends said to add some new lucus stuff that realy worked well with his lifters on his Gs-t, lucas good stuff?

I did it with another nissan I had. He recommended it because the lifters were ticking. He assured me it was dirt in the oil and this would clean the dirt from the engine safely while still providing lubrication. Don't go nuts, half a quart every change. His words "have you ever seen the inside of an automatic transmission? They're always clean, the additives in the ATF keep everything much cleaner than oil".

ok but the tranny is sealed nothing is entering on the other side air dirt and fuel is entering the engine all the time plus carbon deposits from combustion thats why engine oil get so dirty including oil burning itself like i said before i rather use sea foam i may try atf on another car but not on my max
