Looking for tranny swap suggestions

I'll be replacing my tranny, clutch, Y-pipe, CAT and flywheel next week and I'm looking for any suggestions as to what else I should do while I am at it. Does anyone have any suggestions of anything else I should replace or anything I need to be aware of, especially regarding the tranny? What about seals where the CV shaft goes into the tranny?

FYI:the tranny is a JDM w/ 34,000 miles on it, and I have a FSM to help along w/ the swap.

Have any of you guys changed your transmissions? I'm not asking for instructions, just helpful suggestions if you guys have any.

yup just replace the axle seals and if youve never replaced a clutch make sure when your installing the new one you use the alignment tool and torque all the flywheel and clutch bolts right

You'll be better off with a parts car because the tranny might not come with all the little no-name parts. Plus with the parts car you won't need any help because it is all remove and replace. Try to find one from your local junkards. How much did the JDM tranny cost?

The tranny was $730 shipped, and yeah, my car is already a 5 speed, I don't believe in buying automatics

I've heard it's a good idea to do the rear main seal as well, so I think I'll order that and the axle seals. Is there anything else I need to know before I do this? A fellow .org member has a FSM and will be helping me with it since he is a little more experienced, even though he usually only works on a VG
