Costco Gas users step right in.

To everybody who is getting gas st Costco. Does anybody know who do they get gas from?
A co-worker of mine (who just bough a Toyota) went to a Toyota "maintenance" semenar at the dealer, at which the service manager brought up that Costco uses OLD gas and puts additives to "freshen it up". He mentioned that one lady used to use Costco gas a lot and had her Fuel Injectors crap out on her.

I am not trying to rip on Coscto, but has anybody been buying gas from them for A LONG time and observed any side-effects?
THanks!

Well when I see a tanker come into costco, they are usually the ones that most of my local gas stations use. I have been using thier gas on all three of my rigs, the 86 max, 96 Ranger, and 97 Volvo 960. All are running in tip-top shape and I have never experienced one problem with it. Then again, this is Washington State.....so it may not be the same as other states...but really I don't think you have anything to worry about.

This would be interesting to find out, though I avoid that stuff... I use mainly Chevron, Texaco, Shell, and rarely 76.

Always good mileage with Costco gas, no problems on the fuel filter. Been using it for a few years now. Cheaper than most other places too.

Hmmm think of the logic.

Ever see the lines at Costco stations? HUGE! So how could they be using "old gas"? They go though that stuff like nothing.

Even if they used "old gas", the cost of "freshening them up" with additives would drive their costs sky high? Exactly what is "old gas" anyway???

Doesn't it take like 3 years for gas to lose its "power"?

I usually use Chevron and once in a while Texaco. Once in a blue moon I would use 76 100 octane mixed in with their 91 premium.

ug dont get me started on costco gas!!!!!!! that is some bad shiz. i used it once on my old maxima and it puttered like no other. so i thought it was the filter or needed new plugs. well after doing all this i thought hey maybe its this cheap sh*t gas i put in here. the poor max was shaking like mad. so i drained the gas and refilled with CHEVRON and problem went away. since that day ive never gone near costco again. my bros girlfriend runs it in her accord and it runs like CRAP. i tell her everyday to switch. she just wont listen (little cheapskate). cant say i didnt warn her tho. i dont know. maybe i just got a bad batch of gas. hmmm.

I just went to Costco to get a digital camera and talked to a regional manager there about gas. He said that Costco buys gas on the open market and it could be a number of brands. Pretty often it is Amoco or Marathon. In our area (NW Indiana/Chicago) he said that most often it is Amoco/BP, as there is a refinary/terminal on the south side in Whiting, IN.

ive been using BJ's gas now for over a year with no problems. I only use there 93 octane so maybe its better than their cheap crap. Either way I have 130k miles with a full list of mods and still get 400 miles to the tank.

For whatever reason I get bas bad mileage when I use it (93 - Richmond, VA). I generally get 350 miles until the fuel light comes on..250 with costco.
