Hotshot Header Exhaust -VIDEOS-

Myself and SR20DEN went out today and made a couple videos to show the different exhaust notes.

Mine is hotshot headers, WSP 2.5" b-pipe w/ resonator, CM test pipe, stock rear section.
blubyu2k2 exhaust

SR20DEN is cattman headers, stock b-pipe, gutted cat, HKS rear section.
SR20DEN exhaust

Enjoy the vids and hope this helps with some peoples decisions on exhaust noise with headers installed.

Matt

NOICE. excellent vids. nice exhaust notes from both cars.

sr20den - very audible at idle, and screams when WOT
blu - quieter during idle, but deeper growl during WOT. if the sr20den screams, then blu definitely definitely bellows like a gorilla on roids

sounds like blu is auto and sr20den has a sts

Nice videos. I wish some of you 4th gens would make some videos too. Only videos of headers on 4th gens are Iron Lung and Ceasars. Btw, Blu's sounded much better IMO.

5 spd : I don't have a STS. The shifter is stock.

Mad-MAX_SE : Yeah I just washed the car and got too much water in the fartpipe. And don't knock my server. It's on my home PC.

Everyone else that hears mine in person comment on how much they love the way it sounds. A few of the frequencies may be missing due to the mics in the camera. I used to use the stock muffler but now im borrowing someones HKS. The stock muffler was actually more raspy even though it was more quiet.

SR20DEN, what the deal with your exhaust?? The hydrocarbons seem excessive.

Also, any chance you guys can video clip a stock 2k2/3? I'd like to hear the relative diff.

That is all I can say. I think that's the best sounding Max I have heard yet!

SR your's sounds great as well, screams like crazy!!! It has that race car tone too it in a way.

Wow, you guys make me want to buy a 5.5 gen even more now! Both of those cars sound beautiful.

SR20DEN, you must of got a lot of water in there from the carwash! Looks like you had enough to pump water for the fire department! Either way awesome sound!

The water does give the exhaust a visual effect.

I guess I'm the only one but doesn't SR20DEN's exhaust sound really bad at WOT and high RPMs? It has that bad, raspy civic sound. All of a sudden the normal exhaust note just goes away and it has that raspy, firing sound. Also looks like his hanger is missing or something. Blu's sounds great.

SR20DEN has a gutted cat, that partly adds to the raspy sound. Even so, the muffler will play the largest role in how the car sounds.

As I said when I first put on that muffler, if it's too loud or ricey I'll take it off. I am going to make changes anyway to make it more quiet.

having heard them in person yesterday i can say this for certain...ain't no rice coming from SR20's exhaust. i think the camera can't pick up all the frequencies that are there....that thing is sick. i didn't really get to hear blubyu2k2's, but what i did hear sounds pretty sweet too.
