Need help w/ my coilovers!!! **Pics**

Yesterday I went to install my weaponR coilovers and Illuminas. The back coilovers and struts worked w/ eachother but the fronts would not. The circular piece of metal (#1) that the spring sits on and allows you to adjust the ride height would not fit around the strut assembly (#2) . It is basically a little lip that is the same exact circumfrence that is preventing the coilover base from sliding down and being properly seated. Its not the Illuminsa b/c the are the same size as the stock struts and I know other people are running these coilovers so how do I get them on the fronts??? Are the GroundControls the same way?

BTW-this pic is not the exact stuff but you get the idea of what the problem is.

I think you need to grind that lip down to get the coilover sleeve to slide down.

really? seems like it would be alot of grinding. If that is the case it seems dumb that they would make the coilovers like that.

ok cool, so I can just pop it off, slide the piece over it and hammer it back on w/ out ruining the coilovers? Is this normal, or only the weaponR's require this?

Yeop, any modification to the strut voids the warranty. And there is no other way to install them. KYBs get ground down and the tokicos get the hammer.
