I ve heard it from my friends in AZ and Chicago, family in PA and tonight from some guy in the parking lot of my grocery store so word must be getting around.

So either people surge to the pumps the day before so that they don't run out on the 19th. Or they scrape by on 19th and surge to the pumps the next day. Total demand doesn't change, and neither do sales. Want to see lower fuel prices? Stop buying fuel sucking SUVs. And that thread is a good read too.

It Has Been Calculated That If Everyone In The United States Did Not Purchase A Drop Of Gasoline For One Day And All At The Same Time, The Oil Companies Would Choke On Their Stockpiles.



At The Same Time It Would Hit The Entire Industry With A Net Loss Of Over 4.6 Billion Dollars Which Affects The Bottom Lines Of The Oil Companies.



Therefore May 19th Has Been Formally Declared "stick It To Them" Day And The People Of This Nation Should Not Buy A Single Drop Of Gasoline That Day.



The Only Way This Can Be Done Is If You Forward This E-mail To As Many People As You Can And As Quickly As You Can To Get The Word Out.



Waiting On This Admiinstration To Step In And Control The Prices Is Not Going To Happen. What Happened To The Reduction And Control In Prices That The Arab Nations Promised Two Weeks Ago?



Remember One Thing, Not Only Is The Price Of Gasoline Going Up But At The Same Time Airlines Are Forced To Raise Their Prices, Trucking Companies Are Forced To Raise Their Prices Which Effects Prices On Everything That Is Shipped. it doesnt matter if they really do loose 4.6billion (which seems awefully high). They will make more a few days prior to or following the 19th.

screw bikes for a month. Everyone do it for a week. That's more reasonable.

I will not buy gas for a week. Half tank and 4 miles per day=> bike it is!

That money is just a drop in the bucket for the oil companies. They can hold out longer than consumers can because they know that we can't go very long without buying more gas.

So for that one day, they lose money. The demand for gas is still the same. What's to keep them from jacking the prices even higher to make up for that loss?
