bought a dynomax 17733 muffler from advance auto parts for 30 bucks, i know a few people are running dynomax and i figured for this cheap i would buy it. im gonna be puttin it on tomorow hopefully. jus wonderin what everyone thinks of thiers?

just got it put on today during metals class and all i can say is that for a $30 muffler i love it. i welded everything and put a 3 1/4" tip on it and it looks really good, glad i bought it. sounds good. the only thing is that i noticed when i drove around for like 20 minutes was that the muffler and tip got hot as hell to the point of boiling water on it. is this normal and i just never noticed with my stock muffler?

 

Fishpony, do you have a sound clip of this muffler? I have all of the tools/equipment to put it on with in our garage but I’m not sure if it’s the sound I’m looking for.

We set up dual dynomax exhaust on a 1980 malibu we had, but we didn’t like the sound at all. But this may be the deep-throaty sound I’m looking for on the max.

Anyone else who may have clips of this (or any muffler) on a STOCK max feel free to post. (I only want to hear it on a max, sound clips of a muffler on another car doesn't help at all!)

 

I will second this, i love it even with my y pipe and 2.5" catback exhaust
