Problems with flexing...
Alright, this past weekend over at the Cattman meet in Tucson, some1 pointed out that my car was flexing...A LOT. I was obviously showing off how loud that **** can get but after I got out I was kinda surprised at what I saw.
The area in the rear were the clear corners are attached to, well they flep back and forth about 1" when cranked, the trunk lid isnt too bad, but my rear window it back upto flexing 1-1.5" again. My roof, anywere from .5-1" but it was throwing some1's cell phone around

Here is the main thing im worried about, my doors. All 4 doors are flexing a good .5-1". Im afraid its going to pop a molding off or something. Im also starting to worry about the rear window seal
Im really not trying to start another "I got a bad *** setup" thread, but seriously what the hell should I do about this. Im not sure how much abuse the car can take be4 more things start to break. I was even thinking about sealing the sub for a min just to calm things down a little...
all i can say is... i envy you. heh, but seriously, it could only be a matter of time before your rearview mirror decides to fall off or your dome lights drop, i had all of the above happen as well as the entire 3 foot molding connected to the rear license plate of my old grand cherokee falling off in the middle of the road while driving one day. you could either decide to play it safe and dumb down some of the wattage your pushin to your subs, or you could rock it till the wheels fall off, its really up to you.
why dont you ditch that thing you call a brahma and get some funky pups!
you can sound deaden everything, the wheel wells. if you want the sound deadening you'd ahve to rip out your interior and sound deaden the roof, floor, everything.

That sub kicks @ss!!
its a keeper.Dude, thats just too much work & I just dont have time to pull that much stuff out damnit. That sucks man, I mean its kinda cool to watch it flop around but im gonna be ****ed if something breaks off

Frosgate Fan: There really isnt much room for tubing, it would re-enforce the door(s) but the outside would still flex.
I think my problem is once I cranked the power to 1200, It obviously got louder and im just cranking it more & more. I need to learn how to control myself, the sub level **** is about as loud now at 40% as it was at 65-70% with 400w.
65-70% right now is louder then it was at 100%

The back message is optional, I can crank it from SQ bass to blarring loud bass. Obivously the back message feels great, girls like it too
I am considering going sealed just to see how I like it, its still going to be near the 140db area so I doubt ill miss much output. Its just that with sealed, the sub is stronger as far as response goes from the 50-70hz area.
man 1200 watts to a brahma or w/e the wattage is wll cause flexing pretty much regardless unless you have it in a tank. id just try to get rid of any rattles you hear and then just ride out. going sealed im sure you will be disappointed in the spl. but imo it will still be plenty. and of course you wil have some trunk room. what size box do they recommened 4 you?
I know what you mean. I can only imagine the flexing this thing would cause in an SUV
Oh and those estimated #'s as far as the flexing is concerned is with the windows down
So a lot of the air has somewere to go...Im just being jevenile with it, I need to calm it down a bit. I think ill be fine if I relax with the volume, its just hard to not crank it that loud
Sealed should probably drop output by 5db but it will increse by 5db after the 55hz mark so it will be tighter up top. The only reason Im kinda considering it is, is so it will pick up a bit in SQ and I will also have no choice but to not go that loud. Hell it wont be able to go as loud
Ill see, for now im going to leave it be and TRY to ease off the volume a little.
IF I go sealed, ill probably go with a 2.5-2.75cu.ft box after dispacment. I can go as large as 4ft after displacment but what the point, if I was to go that large, id just stick with ported. Id most likley go with 2.5-2.75 so I can get the tightness the sub is capable of but as far as excursion goes, it shouldnt break past 45mm strokes. Thats quite a bit of headroom so ill be fine. Im just worried as would any1 if they see their car flexing that much.

Only thing that stops me is if the amp gets too hot or I just cant take it anymore. One night I had the damn thing slamming for 30min. After that I couldnt even stand to hear bass for a good 24hs, it just bothered me too much. All I can say is this, the Brahma is a insane sub so be careful if you intend on getting one. Its louder and more powerful then you'd think. I would have gotten a sealed B12 if I knew what I was doing.
Seriously, a single 12 or 15 supersub in a sealed box would be plenty. Once you port it, it just literally gets to be too much. It can really get to the point of being painful when certain notes are hit.
One example is the song by Nelly-The Gank. Two soft sweeps start the song off...then it sounds like a bus just rear ended you
Late night tip was deep be4, but now its just painful. I mean its cool that you can turn it up THAT loud, but its also hard not to.
Im most probably going to try controling the volume ****, but im definetly going to try a sealed setup sooner or later.

betcha it feels kinda nice knowing you have that much bass on tap...waiting to be unleashed at your discretion
Too bad there isn't any Adire Audio dealers in Houston (that I know of)...I want to hear what the Brahma can do.

Hell ya its cool, I just have to be careful were I "unleash it"
Late night tip for example is like a bomb going off with a 30sec countdown at the start of the song. You should see the look on others faces when they hear it go off
If you get a chance, listen to one of these things man. Not every install is going to sound the same but you'll get the idea. Hit up one of the audio forums, im sure some1 local wouldnt mind auditioning the sub
