tire blew out on interstate (not in my max though, long)

Drove to Mobile from Atlanta over the weekend for a wedding with the g/f. Decided to take my other car (95 Prizm) b/c I didn't want to put all those miles on the Max. Well, driving down 65S about 30 miles south of Montgomery when my car started shaking like crazy. I slowed down to about 65 and BAM, tire blew out. Traffic was light and I was able to pull over to the side of the road. Changed the tire and called the State Patrol to send a tow truck b/c I didn't want to drive wherever the closest place to get a new tire was. If anyone has driven from Montgomery to Mobile, you'll know what I'm taking about, I was in the middle of nowhere. Tow truck finally came and took me up to the Super Wal-Mart about 6 miles north. Got a new tire and was on my way to Mobile. Needless to say, we didn't make the wedding, but we met up with some friends and went out. "Shot of Patron and a Beer," is all I said to the bartender. I figured I deserved it.

The story gets better. Before the tire blew out I stop at Mickey D's to let the old lady go to the bathroom and get a drink. When she got out of the bathroom, she had the most disgusted look on her face. Someone didn't quite make the toilet and there was $*it all over the floor. Hop back in the car and started to smell something, she stepped in it. It was only a little, but it stank. As we are making jokes about how that was the $*ttest McDonald's we've been to, (literally) the tire blows out.

Poor car, she was good to me in college. Went on plenty of road trips with her, now this. Funny thing is, I was planning on putting her up for sale in about a week... I think this is payback for me making fun of when my brother (gamax97gle) broke down on the interstate about two weeks ago and I was drinking beers on the beach. Pic is what the tire blow out did. Also did some damage to some wires that were exposed. I haven't gotten an estimate yet, but I know its gonna suck!

  • Breaking down on the intertaste = 4 hours
  • Tow = $7.00
  • Replaced MAF and ECU = Warranty
  • Brother totalling his car after making fun of you when you were stranded = Priceless
