Has anybody ever installed (or have installed) an aftermarket sunroof. I'm interested in doing this, but am curious about quality, leaks, different brands etc...

yupe, ASC

installed by ASC ($850 plus tax) when the car was bought new 8/98, installation was professionally done, but wish they'd do better w/ the head liner... it's got one touch open/close/tilt, auto close, jam-free (safety).. and no leaks yet... well, i live in socal, and here hardly rains.. so.. oh, yeah, it's bigger and better then factory unit... hope that helps.. no regrets.

$850? Damn. I was hoping to pay less then that. Is it signifigantly cheaper to get a non-power model -- just pop-up or something like that?

I was looking into moonroofs for my car a few months ago. I looked into asc and webasto. Although I have to personal experiences with either, I would go with webasto cuz they make many of the OE roofs for car manufactures. http://www.webasto.com/ They also give a life time warranty last time I checked. They may also be a little more expensive. IMO, whatever you get, get an electric one instead of a popup.

i have a hollandia power sunroof on my 96 gxe. bought the car used with it. the sunroof is awesome. one touch open close, great job with the headliner, sliding panel... the glass also slides into the roof instead of slanting up and it comes with a lifetime warranty. you'd never know the sunroof wasn't standard.

get it, i'd never get a car without a sunroof ever again.
