What causes the squeaking, chirping noise?

How's it hang'n fellas....well I've got an auto 2000 SE and whenever I go over mild bumps, rough roads, or just closing my doors I hear this high pitch, squeak, chirping noise. I really can't pin point it but it seems it's from the inside/outside front of the car on both sides. On some occasions I won't hear a thing...weird. I do have a tower brace...but i've tried wiggl'n it, and nothing. Well thanks for any info...Wordup

A lot of rubber suspension bushings in these cars and they can dry out. Get a couple of cans of silicone spray and spray the crap all over any part that has movement during suspension.
It has worked for me on other cars and if it does not work you are only out $8 and 20 minutes of your time

spray a little lubricant on your hood latch.
that is probably the problem.

I have the same problem with my 2000 SE. This has been brought up before with no real answers although the suggestion of spraying silicone mentioned in this thread sounds like it is worth trying.

trust me guys. it's the hod latch. if it was your suspension, you wouldn't here it when you close your doors. it's the hood latch.

you can just spray some wd 40 on it, or you could even dab some motor oil on it. anything to lube it up. get the U shaped latch on the bottom side of the hood and the latching mechanism itself.

i had the same problem. if it was a squeak, i'd say look to your suspension. but the "chirp" gives it away. good luck.

I was getting a creaking noise from the front suspension..got tired one day...bought a can of WD40 and emptied it by spraying it all over the suspension parts ( moving and those in contact)...one year has gone by and no noise so far

He's right! I did this when I first got my car. Quick easy fix.

I have a similar noise coming from the left rear wheel/brake/spring area. It only started after I put on aftermarket brakes pads and rotors. I'm going to try the lubrication on the suspension parts, but am unsure about where to spray. Any pointers?? Car's on the lift as we speak, so quick responses would be very much appreciated.
