Carbon Fiber Door Pillar Prototype has been done! (pics)

Okay guys, looked like there was a good amount of interest and we finished a quick prototype tonight of the piece. Here are a few pics to give you an idea of what they will look like.

This first piece is the two strips laid down on the hood so give you an idea of weave pattern and gloss.

i know it's hard to see the pieces in that pic but that is because they are so similar in weave pattern and glossy-ness to my hood!

here is the pic of them on the car.

Note: Homer Simpson sticker is NOT included!! LOL

Any ways, I saw some posts talking about people wanting a full "replacement" cf piece for these pillars and not "stickers".

Let me clarify, these are not "stickers"! I do not know how this idea came about. These are real carbon fiber pieces that will cover your existing door pillars. This is the same type of setup that is used on Mercedes Benz and other Luxury cars that come with sport packages. Once we finalize this prototype and get it to fit perfect we will start up a thread in the Group Buy Section and start selling them! Thank you guys for your interest!

For real, do it for the team. It would look bad ase.
But the rear door piece does have a slight contour where it look weird or the 3M tape will not stick prefectly flush since the CF piece will be staright. Now if the CF can be molded to the rear door piece that will be golden. Looks like I need to start lurking the BD section.

Seems like there is so much interest in that 3rd piece. We will try making it today, the tough part about it is... well if you look at it you can see, Candiman hit it pretty close. Also along with that third piece the price will go up, but only slightly of course. We'll keep everyone updated, thanks!

Yeah... definately put ME down for this. My only hope is that, this does not turn out to be like the last similar CF pillar deal that went down about a year or two ago.

IIRC, the pieces started to 'yellow' on a couple of persons' cars (even after the seller assured them that it wouldn't), and he wouldn't back up his product with either a replacement or refund.

I know you mentioned it in a previous thread, but you might wanna reiterate the fading part, as well as well as any type of warranty (written, implied, or otherwise)

Other than those concerns, I'm DOWN whether you get 2 pieces or 3!!

Any Plans for a 4th Gen? Also are these pieces UV protected to ensure no color changing?

if a black 3rd gen locally buys them i will ask the owner if i can take pics for you, but other than that i don't have access to one. just imagine carbon fiber you see on hoods. it is of the same quality and gloss

I was more worried about the carbon fiber looking "brown" in comparison to the deep black paint. And honestly, I've never seen a carbon fiber hood on a black maxima in person. I appreciate your offer, PM me if you can get a pic.
