well i guess you're in a bit of a spot aren't you? a "customer's car"? are you a mech by profession and if so don'tyou have the service manuals needed?

look by the oil cap on the front valve cover, right above it. There is a wiring harness sticking out of it. The valve cover vent tube is to the right of it and 'above' it. It is hex like in shape and about 3-4" long.

You can either tap the wire at the ECU, or at the solenoid itself. If you tap it at the solenoid, its the yellow wire, which you want to tap into, not cut, and you ground it. You only have to do it to one of the solenoids since it is a shared signal wire.

what's wrong with the Maxima you are working on? Are the VTCs ticking or are you going to replace them?
