What brand gas is best??

i always hear that SHELL os the best as far as gas places but does it really matter. I also have citgo(7-11), Diamond shamrock, conoco....are any of these good or is 91 octane always basically the same?

I have heard bad things about using costco/safeway/walmart gas so I just want to see opinions....

it all depends on the area. I havent seen a shell in my area at all.

But I usually go with Mobil or Texaco.

I track my MPG, and ALWAYS get more mileage out of SHELL gas...usually 40 miles more per tank.

I used to be a Sunoco 94 fan, but, can't justify the extra few cents for less mileage...

I just had to fill up with some Arco 91 and it makes me feel like I filled up with regular. Performance is flat. Could be Arco, could be summer formulation switch over. I do seem to be getting quite good gas mileage now too. Weird. No more Arco for me.

I've been getting Safeway and have been happy, but have not tried many others.

I use 91 Chevon with Techron and have been happy with the performance. But gas prices lately have been a killer, where I live it's around $2.55 for a gallon of 91 octane. I've tried Citco and it was only mediocre. Arco, Safeway, Costco, Sam's Club, and Tesoro all have been somewhat diappointing to me.

I used to fill up with Sunoco 94, this was before gas was 2.35/gallon here in NJ.

I always use Shell 91 octane. It's a very reputable company, plus it's always the cheapest in my area here in SoCal. When I used to live in New Jersey, I used Amoco 93 octane. But here in Cali, 91 is the highest available.

BP connect/amoco works good for me, so does sunoco..

I don't like any $hitygas, or getty's. I always seem to finish my gas within 3 days with those 2.

About the high price of gas lately, think of it this way:

Back when regular was a dollar and premium was 1.20 you had to pay a 20% up charge to get premium. Now that regular is 2.00 and premium is 2.20 it is only a 10% charge. At least that is the logic I use to console myself.

I assume you all know about GasBuddy.com? It might help save a few cents a gallon.
