Car acting really wierd(TPS problem?)

Well I'll be driving around and say I'm in fourth gear or whatever it usually happens when I'm at about 3k on the rpm. It feels that my car has the hickups when I'm just crusing but if my push my foot on the gas after I feel like its not getting gas and falling on its face for a split second. But like I said if I push back on the gas it goes. My idle has been really wierd also. It happened pretty bad 2 twice where when I push my foot on the gas that it would kick back on the rpms and die. But I can still start her right back up and she's fine for a little bit.

Cliffnote- Feels like my throttlebody isn't opening at certain rpms and every few minutes. Its becoming really annoying. ANyone think its my Throttle position sensor? Maybe a bad MAF?

Sounds like the maf. Mine will do that every once in a blue moon. Usually at a specific rpm. Try disconnecting the maf connector and use some dielectric grease on the connector. Make sure all the connections aren't bent and are making good contact.

yeah sounds like the MAF, that used to happen to me in my volvo while I was making left turns! I fixed it buy putting the MAF in the washing machine. I am not kidding, it realy fixed it. Heck the MAF is exposed to 200+ mph winds all the time why not expose it to some water and heat?

Yea that's cool. I'll PM you since I really don't have a day off till tuesday next week.

It has been doing that to me for a couple of days now and not all the time, It didn't do it to me tonight though.

U think since I haven't changed my air filter that would cause it even though, the filter looks ok. Ehh I don't know lol

Ill PM yea Matt. Thanks

I recently replaced the wires/connectors myself 'cos I changed out my plugs, and the old brittle connectors were chipping apart in my hands. On two of the plugs, it had a sucky connection, so I guess they were misfiring or something, causing a really rough ride.

Nothing beats the airflow problem on my first car...the 79 buick... the vacuum hoses disintegrated.... hahaahah.

I don't think that's ever happened on a max.

is it an auto matic ..if so it could be slipping in+out of "torque-converter lock-up" at @ 45 mph the rpm should drop@ 1-200 kinda like shifting into last gear if it wont hold it would jump up+down +/- 1-200 rpm and gassing it would either down shift or hold it one way or the other
