Comfortable lowering springs

I just had a few quick questions...
1.) If i wanted to lower my 99 max about 1.5" can i get just springs and use them with my stock shocks (don't think so but just asking)

2.) Second question is if I were to get shocks and springs which ones would be the most comfortable for dayly driving in Mass? what should i expect to pay for all this?

Thanks a lot - Tim

Well i'll be the first to say that if you want comfortability go with H&Rs. I wouldn't recommend you use your stock shocks for long. You can use them but i would high recommend you get an upgrade when you have the money.

As for the H&Rs, they give you a considerable drop (1.5) but not very noticible. If you want something like your wheel tucked under the fender you might want to go another route. The H&Rs are probably your best bet.

H&Rs with Tokico illuminas...expensive but most comfortable.

Maxspeeds with KYB GR-2.....cheap but not too rough.

Compleat tokico illumina kit....very nice setup

I'll be getting 18"s so I wan't a nice looking drop, but with a ride that is as comfortable as possible. How much can i expect to pay for a whole set of shocks and springs?

The progress/agx setup looks nice, seen a few people with the same setup, all good reviews. Anyone know somebody selling either of these with low miles?

...And maybe someone selling their Evo5's??

I got the Tokico Illumina kit for $560 shipped on eBay. It's pretty comfortable, handles great, and dropped just over 1.5". Drop is very even, and looks great.

Don't use AGX struts or for that matter any product by KYB if your looking for a smooth ride.

Tokico is the way to go. H&R springs and Tokico Blues will give you a really nice soft ride. Upgrade to Tokico Illuminas and you'll have a nice ride on just about any spring you use.

The more I read about shocks i think I'm gonna go with Tokico. Where can I get a really good price on a full spring/shock Tokico setup?

There's a GD on tokico illumina's (the best of the best) and springs too if you want. I think there may be some problems with backed up production though, so read the thread to see what's going on with it.
