I have been reading through many posts, but am having trouble finding the answer to my question. I have a 1996 Maxima, ercently i have been hearing noise from the exhaust, it is in pretty rough shape, so i am going to get a new one. I need everything from the flex pipe back. I would like to get something with some added performance benfit, but i am not willing to have much if any added noise. I was thinking of getting custom 2.5 inch piping for starters. Any other ideas for what i should get that would not add noise? My current cat has an O2 sesnor, does that mean that i will need to get a nissan cat? I dont want to do this because they are upwards of 500 bucks. Any ideas or suggestions would be apreciated.
Thanks

I'm fairly new here but I have heard people say you can't get more horsepower without added sound. To reduce sound get a resonator. I believe warpspeed makes a catalytic converter for '95-'96 for about $100. The most bang for the buck would be a y-pipe for as low as $180 I have seen, if you don't have one already. Hope this helps.

If you want, get two resonators in your b-pipe; my GReddy SP2 only had one so I had a muffler shop install another for $60. The car's quiet but at WOT, sounds like a demon
