I got mine for $30 used, but from Nissan they usualy cost $130, they're easy to program, jsut need to follow the instructions they come with.

That's just for the remote right NmexMAX? Unless you have the security light, that won't work for you fenway1. There was somebody trying to add factory keyless, but I don't think he ever finished. Probably the only sure way is to go aftermarket.

Yeah go aftermarket. The stock system is such crap that almost anything is better.

I bought a remote off ebay ($42 with shipping) and followed the instruction but no joy.
I have the blinking red factory alarm light and people said I should have the keyless option. Well if I do I can't figure out how to make it work.
Is there any way to look at the fuse box under the driver side dash and figure out if it is installed?

Thx

are you sure the ebay remote is a maxima remote? I heard that the altima or other models look similiar but don't work-what are the codes on the back of the remote?

You paid so much cause the guy provided the directions which are available here for free.

No it does not have the big button on top. I think MaximamixaM is right and he sent me some other Nissan remote. I guess this is a case of live and learn and check with Maxima.org first.
Now I know what the remote looks like and where to get it....how can I be sure the car has keyless installed?

Check in the right side of the trunk behind the carpet, there should be a silver metal box.

No silver box. I see the brownish-orange relay but nothing is connected. The trunk release cable looks like it just runs to the release by the seat with no connection to anything (no keyless release). I checked under the fuse box and the relay there is not connected to anything either. This leads me to believe keyless is not installed.
What after market brand is good and easy to put in?

This is the KEYLESS box.

Are you talking about the relay box on the passenger side under the hood? If so don't worry about that, I don't have a relay there either and that's how it came from the factory.

You're out of luck then. Like I said the stock system blows. Even getting one of those cheap systems off EBAY for like $40 is better, they have shock sensors and sirens not the girly horn.

Cool, Thanks man. You guys have been a great help.
I was looking at the Viper 210HV. Has anyone ever had a problem with that set?
