I just noticed a problem where when I started the car (94GXE), the engine sounded really rough and the check engine light stayed on. After a few minutes, the engine normalled out and the light went off. Any ideas as to what's causing this? It seems like it may have to do with emissions control or exhaust systems.

Mine does this & its a fuel injector problem. I'm hoping its a sensor but its not coming on enough for my mechanic to really tell what's going on. It threw a code to the ecu of 51 ( so you might want to see if yours is throwing a code to). This code is a fuel injector circuit malfunction. I just live with it at this point. It's been doing it for 3 months, the light comes on only when I start is (every now & then) and stays on for about 15-30 seconds runs really bad, then goes off & runs fine.

Since you posted the same question in two places, you can look in the other place to read my answer.

hey sarah it sounds like you might have th eproblem that i did....the connector for the fuel injectors on my car were shot and began to get corroded and woudl cause bad starts and it would misfire alot, its not that big of a job for a mechanic to do and i dont belive it would cost you much, all your doing is replacing the injector ends or heads i forgot what you call them, there just little plastic connectors on top on each injector.
