from time to time i notice a ticking noise coming from the engine.....its like 5 seconds between ticks......i especially notice it when im stopped at a light or after i shut off the car and walk away from it.....my car seems to run pretty good.....is this something i should worry about?....can you guys let me know what you think the problem is?........thanks

 

I have the same condition and I doubt it is anything serious. It usually happens when I park my car and walk away from it. My mom's 1994 Camry V6 does this too.

 

its just the engine "block", etc. expending due to the excessive heat. I don't remember where I heard that, but every car I've driven in does it so like Cincy said I doubt its anything to worry about.

 

I also think it's from the heat and the engine expanding and then contracting. My car does the same. My Subaru used to do that too. Don't worry about it at all.

 

Maybe this could be the prob, check the oil, or you might need to get it changed
