Why is my car like no other????

If anyone has been along the ride for my saga... nothing in my car is normal... cant get to the knock sensor to replace because of a swish valve in the way, cant change the ypipe cuase im an idiot and realized too late that i have cali spec... so i go to make my car so they cruise is always available... and i dont have the normal blue relay like everyone else (like in the how-to) instead i have a brown one... with twice as many wires needed... what a pain in the a$$!!!!!!!!!!

As much as I love NIssan, the downside to owning one is that they are harder to work on than just about any other car I have ever messed with. Take the good with the bad I guess.

You're just a fountain of misinformation, aren't you? We don't need that in this forum.

Aren't all 99 CALI spec? Didn't Nissan make all the 99 to be Cali spec compliant? I'm just posting what I read, here on the ORG. Who said we need you?

Sorry, no. I have a Fed spec '99 and I made damn sure it was Fed spec before I bought it earlier this year. Check out this thread: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=310020

The Cali spec pipe is more of a T-shape. I got the normal F/Y shaped pipe from Budget and it fit on my car. I also don't have the swirl/swish? valve, extra plugs on the front of the engine, and whatever else distinguishes a Cali from a Fed. MOST '99s ARE FED SPEC!

I feel your pain, CUSEMAX. I went to install a FTSB, but there is a unused mounting bracket welded in the way. When installing my CAI, I had to move some vac system canister out of the way. What's under my hood never seems to match the Haynes manual or any DIY guide pics. Can't wait to see what's in the way when my y-pipe arrives. Oh well.
