Mudd got to my CAI, how do I clean it?

Its been raining lately, and I went thru some slippery/wet/mud today. It wasnt deep mud, nor was I driving in water puddles, but I got mud onto my CAI filter. I have a flex tube attached to my cone and the cone is right above the heat shield, and the cone is covered with specks of dried up mud. How do I go about cleaning the filter? I dont have filter cleaner, (I'm on a budget for this week), so what can I use?? Soap and water??? and make sure its dried?? Thanks

Go to any pep boys, autozone, anything like that and get the K&N cleaner for @ $. If you are on that tight of a budget, take it off and just hose it down with water. Never use soap as your intake needs the oils on it to help trap dirt. Water will just take off the mud and minimal oil, but soap will take it all!

i just cleaned my filter today with the K&N cleaner kit. you brush off the big particles, spray the cone with the spray bottle of soap, then after it dries, spray it with the bottle of oil.
