Rebuilding Calipers

Well, I am changing out my front brakes.. Brembo Rotors and Axis pads.. and I was going to rebuild both my calipers because one was sticking. I was wondering if anyone had any write-ups or tips they could give me? Also, how do you remove the banjo bolt from the brake line to the caliper?

i rebuilt my calipers, and it was fairly easy, except the i had a helluva time getting the boot around the piston and into the groove. i actually couldn't get it in all the way, but i was so fed up, that i just put it back together. i haven't had any problems yet! *knocks on wood*

i'm not really sure what you mean about the banjo bolt, because getting it off is a simple wrench job, 10mm i think.

Also dont forget most companies will only charge you 75 dollars per caliper if you want a new one if you give them your old core. See with the new one you can throw down some nice paint on a clean caliper.

$30 for the kit to rebuild both sides. $5 for a can of brake cleaner, $5 for a can of Rust-to-Primer converter, $5 for some sand paper, $5 for hi-temp paint, $5 for clear coat.

Total: $55..

plus the time you spend on each caliper and the risk that you may do it wrong
