I noticed one guy had picks posted of his 1992 Nissan Maxima SE and it had no airbag. The cruse control buttons were located on the lower part of the steering wheel, like an 89 or 90. My 92 SE has an airbag and the cruse control is located off the right side of the steering wheel.

Where airbags optional in 1992? Why the different steering wheels?

 

airbags were an option for 92, standard for 93-94, not available for 89-91

89-91 GXE had two spoke wheel
89-92 SE (no airbag) had 4 spoke wheel with cruise controls in the middle of the wheel
92-94 with airbag have the controls on the side of the wheel
