for the rear piston to go in you need to rotate it ( just like screwing it in ) and keep that lid off, otherwise it will not go in.

go to sears they have a little cube that will help you to screw the piston back in. Also there are directions around here somewhere on how to do brakes, I suggest reading them. Also it would pay to have your rotors resurfaced so your brakes wont squeak and you will have better performance.

You need a rear brake piston tool.

I stuck a board over the piston and used a C clamp and my piston went in very easy and very straight..... I did notice that my stock brake pads had clips on all 4 and the ones I bought only had clips on 2. Anyone have the same problem?

OK, first off I hope you used the board and c clamp on the fronts, not the backs. I have yet to hear of ANYBODY that could manipulate the rear pistons without twisting, as they are designed that way.

As for the "clips" are you referring to shims, squeel sensors, or brake pad ears? Youll have to give more info than that.

Sorry about the confussion, but I was talking about the front brakes and the brake pad ears.

The ears have to match exactly. Otherwise you have the wrong pads. I know there was a difference made to the rears mid 00-01 production line change...but not sure on the 02+'s

The pads were exactly the same except for the 2 that were missing the ears. I put them on the back side touching the piston. They did fit like a glove so hopefully everything is okay. I'll probably take them off again and see how they're wearing down.

Sorry to hijack this thread but Is this true for aftermarket pads? I noticed the Hawk pads I got only had ears on the outboard pads (these were the fronts). Is it really possible to wear down one pad without the other?

See I think it's okay that I only got ears on the "outboard" pads aswell and they were ceramic pads from AutoZone. I don't remember the brand name but they were $43 for fronts.

C-clamps are for the front, as mentioned. I know one guy who killed his rear calipers trying to get them in with a c-clamp. They screw; they don't go in as the fronts do
