I noticed a few members have used the stock locations for aftermarket tweeters. I plan on doing that in a few days - any tricks to getting the A-Pillar trim off without breaking stuff?

It just pries off easily. Nothing of a hassles. Most use the stock locations. No reason not to. The staging is pretty decent from there as long as you have them mounted angled nicely

 

It will feel like they will break but they dont. Oh yeah start from the top. you might want to use a flat head wraped in some cloth (to protect the plastic).

yeah the a pillar is real easy and gives solid imaging.

 

Depending upon the mounting design of your new aftermarket tweeters, you may need to mount them differently than the OEM tweeters. I drilled a single hole in the A pillar between the two plastic + shaped pieces to mount my JL Audio tweeters from my component set.

 

I mounted mine here. Great imaging. I had them in the door sails when I first got the car, and then later flushed mounted them in the doors. I wanted to use the space in the pillars, but my tweeters were too deep.

 

i had mine in the pillars, im moving them to either the sails or the doors like MIXXMAX just for a change since im getting new speakers anyway
