I saw the cool video catching the Nissan Skyline backfiring from the muffler.

How do you do that?

Can you guys explain how it works?

that's not really a good thing... the reason it does that it cause the car is running really rich, and say when you are shifting, and get of fof the throttle, the unburnt gas is ignited by the cat... that's not that good for your cat... that's for sure.

You would call that a Very Well Tuned Car =)
it is running rich..and once the gas hits the atmosphere..POOF! just be careful for leaks..if it leaks before your muffler...

its called backfire...alot of cars with No2 do this
and it happens for the reasons explained in the other 2 posts

ive seen some people tho...actually get a tiny gas line inserted somewhere in their exhaust (not sure where...muffler maybe?) and the heat ignites the gasoline in between gear shifts or something...i forgot how it works...this version of backfire is just a nighttime effect...you can turn it off and on...imagine running around in broad day light with fire coming out of your *** everytime you shifted? LOL
