Seatbelt chime terror

My seatbelt chime sounds every so often during operation of the vehicle. It acts like I am disconnecting it from the retractable buckle. I have replaced the two sensors in that assembly with new/used ones but still have the same problem. I have heard there is a way to *trick* the top sensor (magnetic) into thinking the circuit is open/closed by using a piece of wire. Anyone have experience with this? Any ideas? Thanks.

sorry, not sure what could be causing the chime, but why not take it to the dealer and let them deal with it...the restraint system has a lifetime warrenty from what I remember

I am having the same prob. Also having the brake light come on intermitently. I read a thread recently that someone had the battery light and some other light come on and it ended up being a sign that the alternator was on its way out. I have been cleaning all grounds, battery posts etc. I am thinking it could be caused by low voltage.?

I tried that already. The warranty only covers against belt defects i.e. rips, tears, fraying, etc. They won't actually cover the sensor part. At least from what i have been told.

I added a small how-to on my website for this.
It's pretty simple and just uses one wire to bridge two terminals on a harness in the b pillar

Oh wow, I added the wire like Craig's site said and not only did it fix my seatbelt but it also resurrected my guage lights! Don't know how that happened, but now I don't have to drive in the dark anymore.

Thanks much.
