i finally painted the molding black on my clear corners, not really a mod, but i FINALLY did it and it looks way better.

and i just finished my mesh grill via gutter guard, and it looks tight! i'll try to get some pics and post 'em soon. this is one of those mods you get a lot of pleasure out of. it looks tight and you did it yourself.

...and the total cost of the two mods was like $15!

 

cool..i gotta take some time and paint the trim on my clear corners. it looks so much better painted black, the way it should have come.

 

yeah its amazing how much better the clear corners look when you actually paint the trim black. i finally got around to doing it like a month ago. i shoulda done it way sooner.

 

what do you u use spraypaint,or marker

 

for a while i just had electrical tape on there, and it looked just as good. i just wanted to paint it to make it more permanent. i wouldnt use marker

 

Congrats!!!! You finally painted your trim!! More people should do that with their unpainted clears. Can't wait to see the pics...

I saw a company that makes the clear corners with the black, not gray trim. Urrrgghh! I just can't remeber who!?

 

i think there's only three companies that make them: courtesy and apc (which i think are the exact same lenses!) and now nakayama has come out with some clear corners for the third gen. maybe its nakayama that has black around the lense?

 

It seems like I saw a pic in Nopi? It was some major distributor though for me to have just "run" across such a pic. But I remembered how no one liked the gray and how these had the black, that's all that caught my attention. Eh, well.

 

I used a ceramic based paint from a hobby shop... looks good and has not come off. Just make sure you buy a thin enough brush to apply it with, and REMOVE the lenses from car!!!

 

Did you use the stock grill frame? How did you attach the gutter guard? Please advise. I already have the gutter-guard. Was going to try it later this week.

 

are you talking about the gutter guard grille? if so.....yes you do use the stock grille frame. you can attach it many different ways. in my sig pic.....i have the mesh in from the front, so that it is flush with the outer grille frame. i have a write up (if you wanna call it that) on my webpage on doing it this way. doing it this way it just kinda stays in there by itself with no screws or attachments of any kind. i have now redone my grille (just finished today) and have put the mesh in from the backside, so that it is recessed from the grille frame. i also got heavier duty gutter guard which looks much better. that stuff was a pain to bend though. i'll take some pictures and i'll do a write up this way too. i attached mine with jb weld, because i wasnt too fond of using screws.

I went out and did this just last night. Gutter Guard cost $1.27 and I had the paint, did it in black. I'm getting my Stillen ground effects put on in a couple of weeks, so with this grille and it being on my hood, it's looking sharp! I'll get some new pics.
