dude, you changed just about everything else...maybe your knock sensor? I would definitely replace the 02 sensor first.

they are like $80-$90 IIRC (ask Internetautomart for a good price). I have a VE, but I think the VG o2 sensors are the same.

That's really not that expensive. Think of it like this -- I got 25+ mpg last time I calculated my mpg. That's about 400 miles on most of a tank (say 16 gallons roughly), since I don't run it down to zero. If you are getting 1/2 that, you are getting roughly 12.5 mpg. If you go through 2.5 tanks of gas, you will save around $80 (at $2/gallon). So, if it solves the problem, you will save your money back in about 1000 miles.

calculate before/after mileage with the fidanza and let me know how many miles it will take for it to pay for itself. It would be impossible for me to lol

I haven't had a normal driving trip since I've had it. On the way back from your house after the install, I was well over the speed limit (bad, Chris!) and the last trip I took was to Woodburn, where I raced it, which I am sure didn't help the mpg. I didn't check mileage going to Woodburn. I tried to judge it so I had only around 1/3 of a tank when I raced it. I would have gone lower, but I had no idea how many runs or how far the track was from the nearest gas station.

See, it's cheaper than I recalled, so it's even less to save your money.

i knew somethin was fukked up when i got 80 miles a HALF OF A TANK. What I did didn't use any money, but I started accelerating slower and right now I have 55 miles and only used 1/8. So I figured I was pushing my old car too hard and laid off, and the whole car responded better, even the tranny.

Bosch does use a rather long wire on it's o2 but most others are the shorter more normal length.

Put in the o2, still sucking down on premium. Fill it, and after 100 miles of city driving it's at half... I'm now curled up in a ball in the corner crying and confused... And yes i have a wireless keyboard so i can type this from the corner.

It's gotta be a bad AAC adjustment ay???

CALM DOWN
When my gas mileage went it took the new O2 and about a week of normal driving for the car to get the gas mileage back. If it's been running like crap for a while you might want to reset the ECU. It couldn't hurt. Then drive normally. I would fill up to a quarter of a tank and measure how many miles I got. If the number doesn't go up gradually then you can curl up into a ball. I felt the pain before man. Check my ride!!!

Also you could always try seafoam, or BG44K.

Hmmmmm.... Reset the ECU(Thinks*: Can I do that with a pen???)

I know my aac is messed up. I took it to a garage and he said "WTF!? that AAC screw is turned down 1/4 inch to far... I think?" I can't find anyone that knows anything about aac adjustment.

I changed a lot of parts on my 91 SE due to bad gas mileage. Once I changed the O2 sensor though, I got 250 miles a tank as opposed to 200. Then I changed the fuel injectors and I then got 350 a tank. Then I replaced the clogged cat converter, now I get 370 a tank. I am pretty satisfied now.

to therealgoon9 :

If you think your IAAC needs adjustment, then warm up your car. Put it in park and your RPM should be around 750. If not, then you need adjustment. Bad mileage is one hell of a mystery for me to decypher lately. I am having the same problem. I couldn't believed one dude claimed he got back his spec after changing his injectors. I did that, changed all flex fuel hose, rubber seals, orings, rotor, ngk iridium spark plugs, o2, down pipe, new cat, spark wires, bosch alternator, water pump, thermostat, t-belt, tires, rims, struts, springs, cleaned all intake carbon deposits, new vac hoses, rebuilted all injectors, etc.... shiiite and it still didn't do jack to improve my fuel economy.

I just installed 2 additional ground wires for the engine, so let's see if that does anything. I'd noticed smoother operation. Along with other mods and upgrades, it did helped out my performance a lot. So, I am keeping my finger cross as usual on my epic journey toward solving this damn bad gas mileage dilemma. Hell, if this one improves it. I am gonna ground every single f*** one of those 11 screws around the manifold!!!!!!!
