I've been growing tired of the somewhat "dumpy" bumper lines my '95 SE has and checked into some aero styling kits. Zowie! They certainly are expensive. Now I'm wondering if maybe I should consider just swapping up to the 97-99 replacement bumpers (nicer look). Would they fit properly? Looks like they would. I know the fogs would have to be replaced. But looking at the total parts and repainting costs, I think I could get by cheaper than just the Stillen aero kit parts alone.

Has anyone done this modification? Comments?

the 97 front lip fits on the 95 perfectly, if that is what your asking.

I also thought about this.

I recently cut out my foglight holes on my '96 and put heavy mesh material in them. Cold air goes straight into the area where my CAI sits. I made somewhat of a cover for it out of the piece I cut out so when it rain the rain doesn't come in all over/into the filter. I'm going to try and make some grills for the holes in the middle of the bumper now. That's gonna take much more time and a lot of patience. I do like the '97 bumpers better though.

Have you ever seen this done... or are you just estimating that it will fit?

I changed my front bumper and grill to a 97-99 front bumper and grill. Looks very nice, also the body kit front spoiler looks better than the 95-96. Ask me what you need to ask, also Yellowbrother is doing the same thing shortly.

I've been considering the '96 SMX grill, but my suspicion is that the '97-99 bumper has a different contour for the grill. If I go for the '97-99 bumper, I probably should wait on doing other related mods until then (the '97 SMX grill looks pretty sharp too).

When you got the replacement bumper, was it pre-painted? If not, would it be much cheaper to have a paint shop do it separately, then just install it myself when dry?
