First time at the track with my S/C

This was only my second time to the track, I went once when I was stock. Even with my crappy driving I was satisfied with the results. I also had a completely full tank of gas. I didn't realize I would be going, and filled up the day before. The needle was above the "F". I did no weight reduction either, basically went as I drive it everyday. Didn't bother to lower the tire pressure. My 18's probably aren't helping me much either.

I don't have the slips, but I ran a 14.4 at about 100 mph. My 60' er's sucked, my best was 2.5 something. I really need to learn how to launch better. Any tips would be helpful.

My set-up is a Stillen S/C, basically as it comes from Stillen, stock 3.6 pulley, Stillen pancake filter, etc. The only other real power adder is the Budget Y-pipe.

I'm thinking I should be able to get into the 13's pretty easy just by learning to drive and remembering not to fill my tank the day before. I could also do some other simple things like adjusting my pressure down a little from 40psi and stuff.

That is a decent time for the stock pulley and a bad 60'. Could you post the whole slip when you get to them? Way to go!

Thanks Mike,
A 100mph trap should be good for a 13 sec run, right?

Also, for S/C cars I was assuming redline shifts are the optimum points, anyone know?

The car should be good for 13.9-14.1 assuming you can get out of the hole. I do believe that with the SC redline shifts are what you want.

Slick it up and knock down some easy 13s, not bad base times, they could be worse.

That's a nasty trap speed. Nice strong running supercharged Max SEL.

Any pics of your car/setup please.

100 trap shows you're making some good power. 13's are yours with the right launch (and maybe a lil less gas in the car). Enjoy the blower!

Thanks for the comments guys. I think for the remainder of this year I'm just going to practice my launches at the track. When I get to low 14's or 13's, I may put a smaller pulley on. I'm also planning to get an MEVI in the future. But for now I really want to concentrate on learning how to drive what I got. To save my pricey S-03's, I may get some steelies and run some drag radials though. Ferbs, you can look at my homepage for some info, but I need to update that thing soon. Mike, I'll post the slip if I can ever remember to take a pic of it while I'm at home.

you don't have to post a pic of the actual slip, I was just curious about the 1/8 mile and such.
