CV joints bad again?

I had my right axle changed about a month ago because it was knocking when I turned left and so now it is doing the same thing with new one installed. Is there a chance that it has gone bad that fast or could it be something else making the noise?

Get under your car and check the boot. Maybe it that wasn't your problem in the first place. Did you check the "bad" one before you replaced it ? And if so, the boot should have more than likely been torn, do you have Sprints springs or anything lower? If so, that could be your problem.

Actually, the cv boots weren't busted on the first one but it did knock. Then the axle was replaced and no knocking for about 2 weeks. Now it is doing the same thing.
Yes, I do have sprints and no the boots aren't torn. What could this be?

I had this same problem. CV's went bad, knocking and popping. The boot was ripped though. I put a new left and right in and the right started making a thumping noise right away. I swapped it for another one and it started thumping after about 100 miles. It stopped so I left it alone then it came back a couple weeks later. Then the boot ripped and I replaced it again about 2 months after I had initially replaced them. Im on my third right now and it has been good for a couple months with no noises. I believe that both of these shafts were poorly rebuilt (came from NAPA) and this was the cause. If you did it yourself swap it again, if you got it done at a garage, get them to check it out.
