Amsoil 80-90 GL-4 Gear Lube?

Looking to replace the gear lube in my 98 Maxima 5 speed. Seems to be lots of opoinions of lubes but nothing on Amsoil GL-4 80-90 that I have seen yet. Anyone used this yet?

I have it in my car right now. In cold weather it gets too viscous for my taste so I'm switching to Redline MT-90 before the winter. In warm weather its great though.

I've used the 80W-90, the 75W-90 and the Series 2000 75W-90. For the price difference, I prefer using the Series 2000 75W-90 in everything now. In winter, the 80W-90 just doesn't feel as good. In the summer, the Series 2000 offers the best protection.

If you're interested in discounted pricing, shoot me an email or PM.

I cannot PM, I guess because I haven't donated. What is your e-mail address?

Gear Oil / Pennzoil Synchromesh

Thank you for the input on Amsoil...
Monday I drained my trans. oil, which was perfectly clear and gold and replaced it with Pennzoil Synchromesh gear oil. Does anyone else have any knowledge or experience with this gear oil. It is working great, shifts smooth and everything fine. But does anyone else use this oil? Am I alone with this choice?

I am currently using the Amsoil 80w-90 in my 6 speed which isn't the recommended weight for it. That didn't seem to extend the life of the 3rd gear synchro so I will repalce the synchro and try Amsoil ATF next.

Other than that I have no complaints with the stuff. The thing still shifts smoothly in the other gears and the oil does what it was designed to do.

I am using the series 2000 75w90 gl2 thru gl5 stuff and my transmission has performed smoothly (though it was smooth before as well).

Going To Change To Amsoil

Will be picking up a gallon of Amsoil GL-4 80-90 tomorrow. The Synchromesh is working fine but not getting enough positive feedback to feel secure with the long term reliability of the Synchromesh. My transmission shifts great also.
