Painting Rotor ?'s

When you paint your rotors and calapers do you have to tape them up, or can you paint every thing and let the brake take the paint of the rotors?

thanks

do NOT paint the contact surface of the rotors...the only part of the rotors you can paint is the hub section.....remember, most paints for cars are oil based.....would you put OIL on the contact surfaces of your rotors?

Just tape them up. Although I suggest you get the G2 caliper paint kit which is brushed on with a small brush, not sprayed on...

depends what kind of paint... if you use that thick enamel stuff then no. I used some high temp black BBQ paint and sprayed everything rotor, rotor hub, and calipers. No problems because the brake pads burned away the paint. My other friend did the same except it was a shop that did it. The shop was redoing the finish of his gunmetal grey kosies and painted the caliper at the same time - direct spray.
