I was talking to a friend and he just got a 2001 Maxima GXE and He wanted to know how much it would cost with labor to get his 2001 with a 3.5 with an auto or manual tranny.

Second question was if he could take the 03 6disk bose cd changer and just plug it in to his dash or would it require modification.

 

bump, I know someone knows this... i just need an estimate from someone who knows or knows someone whos done it.

 

Sell the car and buy a 2002-03. Would be less expensive.

 

i doubt hed get much for it, its got 140k miles on it, thats why he wants to do it, but needed to know how much it would cost.

BTW, I told him to sell it too! But he just got it a month ago.

 

The cd changer should plug and play as long as he already has the bose in there. Check the audio section faq's for details on the build date of the cd changer you should get.

 

I doubt hes got bose.

 

my bro has this done. he has a vq35 in his 2k max. but he replaced all the wiring and ecu and everything like that because it is different. if you want to do it, buy a smashed 2k2 parts car and swap everything over from it. but would be easier to buy a 2k2-2k3 maxima.
