Cross-Bar Removed- GOOD or BAD?

Removing the cross-bar from under the exhaust. Is that good or bad?

I removed the one under the Y-pipe, since the Warpspeed pipe fits like a$$ and hangs too low. Seems ok?

wouldn't that take stiffness away from the frame?

I think that's exactly what it's for. Mine is off right now but I'm gonna get some spacers and longer bolts (of appropriate type for a frame brace) and put it back on.

i did the same thing but finally removed it because of rubbing durning hard acceleration while turning even with it lowered.

By how much did you lower it? I was going to lower it by .75".

Mine's been off for a couple of months now, thanks to the WS Y-pipe that hangs too low and bumps on it. I can't really say I miss the crossmember. In fact, I can't tell that it is gone.

if your gonna put washers.. you're gonna need about 8 washers for each bolt..
once u press accelerate ... that thing flexes down for about 1.5 inches

It's not under the Y pipe, it's under the B, but right after the main CAT.

Get poly motor mounts, it won't budge more than 1/2 inch.

Remember, that brace is there for a reason. The engineers who designed these cars are much more intelligent than you or I. I'd reinstall it.

drove without mine for about 2 years.... then I decided to put it back on... Used large metal spacers and longer bolts....

Noticed NO difference with it back on...

When I replaced mine, I went to an experienced muffler shop and the guy there told me it need to be on and he just used two small metal washers under the bold and the pipe has never rubbed against it.

I am sure it is there for one or more of 3 reasons.
Chassis stiffener
Passenger compartment integrity in the event of a side impact
Just a catch for the exhaust to avoid an accident should it fail as the car ages.

Guys on Car domain have spaced them down an inch or so like the others have said

It might not be a big deal to have it off but who knows?
