2000 SE - RPM Drops to 3-400
2000 SE - RPM Drops to 3-400
There is no SES light coming on, but the cars RPM's drop (not all the time), to 3-400. There is a light shudder as the engine wants to stall (and did twice), then the RPM's pick up again.
This happens when I come to a stop and push the clutch down to the floor, or when I have the car coming to a stop and pop it into neutral.
Oh, I recently had the infamous P0420 error and had to replace my rear pre-cat, but this was happening before then.
Any suggestions, comments?

I've been having similar problems. My car was doing the same thing and stalling for a while but it went away after cleaning my intake and TB. However, my rpms are dropping too low again and i cleaned the intake not too long ago, so im not sure what the problem is. I have a po420 but i dont think its that bc i had that before this problem. Anyone else have this issue???

Bad MAF is my guess. I just had mine replaced this week for the same reason. No CEL came on; the car (automatic 2000 SE) just started running like crap. The last drive to get it fixed was nerve racking...
The cost to fix it was $250 at the dealer, but I guess you could do it yourself...
I have the same exact problem. I had that for quite a while now BUT a few months ago I got this 1320 code for misfire. Lately my car started running worse because of the coils (1320 code...) and rpm dropping has gotten worse as well. It would go away for 2-3 days after TB cleaning but always comes back. I'm doing some service on the car pretty soon along with changing all 6 coils. I'll let you know if the coils are causing the problem.

Mine ran the same way for about a week, and then it started hesitating really badly upon acceleration. I noticed it first (and worst) at about 40 mph, low rpm (third gear??)...
By the way, will the ECU throw a code if no CEL comes on?
