Should i buy this maxima or no?

hi guys, i am new, and an owner of a 1999 svt contour. i am selling the contour due to the fact that its a pile of ****, and i am going back to my old nissan ways. i am looking at a 2001 GLE with 145,000 miles, the price is $9,995. it has almost everything, apparently the miles are all highway. i would like to get at least 200,000 out of the car before i get rid of it, what are the probabilities that i can get that much? should i expect a lto of trouble with this car? what should i be aware of? please give me some advice, and what kind of mileage i can expect. here the car is http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...or=&cardist=28

thank you so much for your help.

10k for a car with 145,000 miles, its obviously highway, but I would pass on this one.

^ What he said. At that many miles the tranny either has been replaced, or its days are counted. But just shop around some more, this one's a ripoff. My friend traded in his 01 GLE with brand new tranny at 120k and got $7000 for it.

If I were you, I'd save up and get a 2k2. You only buy it once, why not buy something better?

Ok, I need to know why you are all concerned with the Tranny with what I'd consider low mileage. As long as you keep up your maintenance, I've not seen major problems.

My 2K (5 speed) has 91,000 miles on it, and I did the 105K tuneup early just to knock the plugs out early. I'd hate to think they have a tranny that wears out earlier than I'd expect. (yes I expect that from GM and Chrysler, not Nissan or Toyota).

i wouldn't get it. Way too many miles...and i've been to MN before, the weather adds 50,000 miles + 5 years to the car extra.

I have 225K on my '90 Max w/ the original tranny. I had 160K on my '94 as well. These cars can last a long time w/ proper care, but you have no idea how the previous owner treated the car. You can find better deals for the money. Or maybe just try spending a little more for lower mileage.
