Regular vs LED Bulbs...why???

I have replaced 4 of 5 lights in my car with red LED's and they are advertised as being the brightest on the market etc and yet they are not even 1/2 as bright as the original factory bulbs in the car...so i think i'm going with red colored bulbs now...anybody know why this is bc it's annoying to spend the money to buy them then find out they aren't really that good

When you buy LED bulbs look for the mcd value of the led's. the higher the mcd the brighter the bulb. I bought 9000mcd bulbs for my window switches, and the security light. The security is so bright it lights up my car everytime it blinks. You honestly can't look at it for too long either, or you'll see the LED for about 2 minutes thereafter...so high mcd, bright bulb...hope this helps

LED's last longer for one benefit, but they can claim it's brighter on a size comparison to a regular bulb.
