4th gen GLE (w/ Bose) Stereo Questions

The Bose system in a family member's 4th gen GLE recently keeled over and died on her, so I'm going to be replacing the system as a favor on monday. I have speakers which will fit already and she's buying a head unit, but I'm not too sure on a couple of things. I got quite a bit of information from the FAQ, but I have a few unanswered questions I'm hoping you guys can help me out with.

1) The new speakers I'm putting in are components and I'd like to use the stock tweeter locations. Any advice on how to get to the stock tweeter locations? Does the pillar trim just pop off or is there a hidden screw somewhere? If it makes a difference this particular car has the fuzzy pillars.

2) I know the Bose system has built-in amplifiers in the door, but I don't know what the wiring from the stock receiver to the amps is like. Am I going to have to run new speaker wire? If so, any advice on getting it into the front doors from the head unit? I'd rather not pull the entire dash apart to do this.

3) Does anyone have a pin-out for the stock Bose head unit wiring so I don't have to go crazy with a multimeter figuring out which wire does what?

4) And, last but not least, these new speakers are components so they obviously have external crossovers. This installation needs to be as clean as possible and I'm having some trouble figuring out where the stick the crossovers. Since everything will be running off of the head unit and not an amp, putting them out of the way in the trunk or something is out of the question. Any ideas?

Thanks a lot in advance, guys.

The pillars should just pop off.

Best way for the speaker wires is to run them from the HU to the x-overs into the doors. tape'em up and run them through the grommets that are there.

Why dont you just get a wiring harness from anywhere and use that? u dont need a pinout just crimp the connections from the headunits harness to the aftermarket harness and plug and play into the bose harnesses

the external x-overs should fit snuggly and cleanly in the kick panels, mine do
