So I've had the damn thing for a year...

and I don't think I could be happier with the choice I made after thinking about the other cars I was considering...I'm glad I got the Maxima, only wish she would have been a 5spd...but I didn't know how to drive a stick a year ago, so probably best it wasn't.

Yesterday (the 24th) was my 17th birthday, and I got the car the day after my 16th birthday, so today's my 1 year anniversary lol.

Yesterday I was at my grandpas and my dad put on my new bumper (if you check out my cardomain, you can see my old bumper)...I preceeding sawing my old bumper in half with a hacksaw...buahahahaha.

I actually havn't been on the org for a year, but as soon as I joined the org, is when my modding first started...my car remained stock for about 3 months (don't know how I lived without modding)

I'll try to get pics of the new bumper up, but the digicam isn't around at the moment, maybe later this week.

I was thinking I'd use this post to declare myself not a n00b anymore...but then I realized my mod list is smaller than my "future plans" list, so I guess I'm still a n00b

congrats...you made it through the year without any accidents (or major ones at least). Take care of her and she will take care of you. I have had 5 3rd gens in the last couple of years. Granted only 3 of them were actual drivers (2 parts cars) and they were all great cars.

Got some bumper pics...Mike this is the $60/qt. paint...looks good to me?

Before:

After:

Paint matches pretty well, but the underpart (didnt paint it) doesnt exactly match the fender, works for me though!

sweet...nice bumper .

Did he use the color match system that some products have (PPG and DuPont I know for sure)? Or did he just go by the code?

It is a little off (but not bad) and doesnt have the gloss it should (but then again its hard to tell in the pics...it just looks a little duller than the fender) but I am super super picky...way more picky than most people are. Just ask Craig...I pointed out a little ding on his car that he didnt even know was there until I showed him.

All in all though it looks good...especially for a daily driver that will probably get some dings here and there.

it looks way better than the broken up bumper that is for sure.

I told the guys at the paint store the code and they got it from that...I agree it is less glossy, not sure why, even with a coat of wax its still very dull

hmmm...was it a single stage paint or BC/CC paint?

BTW you shouldnt be waxing it yet. It will be a while before the paint is cured enough to use wax on it.

You can use rubbing compound and a buffer on it though but be careful if you wet sand it first because you can sand through the paint and mess up the paint job. I would just leave it alone because it looks fine.

Well, I was painted about 4 months ago, maybe longer than that, that's why I'm waxing it
