350z rims on 90 MAXIMA

Will 350z rims fit on my 90 Maxima GXE.... I know the wheels on the 350z are different sizes on the front and back, and the 350z is Rear-Wheel Drive, but does that matter????? The rims on the 350z are 17x7.5" front and 17x8" rear. So will my car be uneven??? Will they rub and mess up on the freeway~~85mph???
Otherwises I will get 98 max rims or some 5th generations with the 6-spoke. What u guyz think

Also I am planning on getting some KYB-GR2s, should get springs too??? If yes what kind?
Right now my car is bouncing like crazy(still have stock struts/springs)

Thanks everybody in Advance.....

OEM Nissan swap to OEM Nissan -all in the family

yes. they will fit.

i doubt they will rub.

lophix runs those wheels.
they look fantastic on the 3rd gen.
he'll probably chime in here soon enough. i will look for his earlier post.

You know, there are a lot of aftermarket rims you can get, too...including lighter choices out there if performance is your goal.

From the ones you listed, I think the 5th gen wheels are probably the nicest. If you are going to stick with Nissan wheeels and you want 16s instead of 17s, the stock s14 wheels look good, IMO. Probably the sweetest wheels are from Skylines, but you need some terrific luck or lots of cash for those.

there is a guy around here, too, running G35 sedan wheels on his i35. and they look so, so, so nice.

those would look great, too, on the 3rd gen.

G35c are gorgeous wheels, too. but i doubt those would fit. i think the lug pattern is the same, but they're too wide.

Been there done that as well

That was my 91se before *sob* i took it apart.

More pics here...http://maxima.cardomain.com/id/lophix

Concerning the 350Z wheels I have a few words of advice....
  1. Buy just the wheels if you can...without the stock tires
  2. If you DO find a deal on the stock wheel and tire package, make sure the frigging tires are not feathered (search google, keywords 350z feathered tires) otherwise you will be buying anew set of tires before long due to the horrendous noice of the tires. In short, just prepare to buy new tires anyway because the stock tires el sucko.
  3. you can fit 235 45 17s on all four wheels...that way you can rotate them any how you like..

Oh yeah...you *might* rub under really low conditions, low+tight turns, etc. I sometimes rub backing out of my driveway due to the slope and full turn to either direction. But that's not a major issue. Note which wheels are the 17x8s and do keep an eye on the tires when they are in the rear...make sure they have enough clearance b/w the tires and the strut tower housing.

enjoy.

edit: oh yeah, btw. The reason I favour OEM wheels over aftermarket wheels are because of the assumed durability and strength over some others in the market (adr, etc).

yesiree, i have an entire other full set of BNR32 rims for my S14 --ain't on the S14 yet, but are sitting on shelves in the garage along with the 5-lug swap and Skyline GTS brakes (z32). yep. waiting for play-money to get the lowering gear. so she sits there...

lophix, those G35 wheels are excellent on the 3rd gen. wow.

sweet.

nissan makes awesome wheels. i'd stay with the family somehow. the nismo LM series wheels are super-fine as well.

You know I posted earlier about getting some 7 spoke 240sx wheels, these look like a simpler solution though.

i had a problem putting those size tires on my 94 max gxe. in the rear the tires rubbed against the suspension, where a piece of it cuts out and curves. so what i did was that i bought 5 mm (i think) spacers for $7 each in the rear and problem solved.

Somebody can snag these for cheap--shipping is expensive, but the price is right. Wonder what the reserve is.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=66483

Or these, with no reserve:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=43957

Wow, even more--no reserve here:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=66484

SO the fact that the rear wheels are bigger than the front doesnt matter? Also that the 350z is rear-wheel drive?

No and no. I've seen this put into pratice. Something that might be intresting to try is to put the bigger wheels on the front, since our cars are FWD. Really put that extra .5 to work. (He's being facetious.)

Perspective, my friend. I am helping the masses at the cost of one.

If I were doing it, I would try and get 4 that matched (same size all around). If I had to get the offset, I would put the wider on the front to help kill some understeer.

I'm that "one" and I'm coming to get you... na just kidding. Just so we're clear "kill some understeer," has nothing to do with driving over cows.

aren't the two sets different sizes? (ie: the rears are larger than the fronts... 17s in front, 18s in rear?)

You been sniffing that pizza dough again??

Z wheels: Staggered = rear wheels are wider than the front wheels. Both are either 17" or 18" depending on the option package.

Check the ebay links for reference. ie.. front 7.5" rear 8" or something like that.

I was looking at the space betwean my rear strut and tire... I have 1/2" of room. I'm not too sure about the 350's n the rear. With spacers it wouild make it. If you like the bean barrito froggin look.
