I have a 1992 Nissan Maxima SE with roughly 86,000 original miles but my valves ( I think) tap at times. It doesn't happen all the time just usually when I start up the car but when I get on the highway it stops. Can anyone suggest anything that could help??? Anything at all would be greatly appreciated. I want to get this fixed asap cause at times it sounds like a diesal car. Also is there anyone selling their car who want to sell their rims separately?? 17 inchs preferred.

it is not your valves tapping it is your VTC's (variable timing cam sprockets). This won't hurt your car just is annoying. You can ground them out if you like but I suggest just turning up your radio a bit and running a heavier weight oil 10w30. Mine tick away all the time.
