94 GXE audio problem.

After a long road trip, I found my two front speakers went quiet suddenly while my friend was driving my car. I don't know what's wrong with it. Somebody said that it might be a front and rear balance thing, which I really doubt cuz my friend said he didn't touch anything. Does anybody have any idea what's wrong with my stereo? I really hate only listening music coming from behind. Did I really lose my stereo for real?

I am really puzzled and look forward to any advice. Thanks in advance.

Could be alot of things. The simplest would be to check the fade (volume difference between front and rear) and see if there is a rear bias. If that isn't it, then you could have many other problems. Is it stock?

They are still original speakers. The volume difference between front and back are HUGE. As I said, I couldn't hear a thunder from front ones, but i can hear music clearly from back. I thought the front ones were shot.

Hey, guys. Problem solved. Thank you all for your sincere helps. It turned out that my friend adjusted the fader, which I had no idea how to reset before this afternoon while I was playing with my audio system.
