how much for just the apexi filter? I already have the stillen intake system with a frankencar midpipe, just looking to replace k&n filter with apexi. I'm assuming the apexi filter will bolt right onto the MAF assemble like the K&n does right?

-MAF adaptor
-Apexi filter
-Apexi filter install kit (adaptor, silicone coupler, hose clamps)
Total for the above three will be $110 shipped.
Sorry for this noob question, but I'm embarrased to ask this. If I get this, it does come with the pipe and all right? Do I have to upgrade any other part of the car? What about the MAF? I hear that this thing blows once you install an intake. Again, I'm only into slight mods, such as RSB and FSTB (thats all i have right now), but this looks tempting. Also, whats the difference between the K&N and Apexi? I have a 2001 SE also.
Thanks
Andy
Thanks

Andy, no worries. I'll answer anyquestion, it's worse to not ask.
Anyhow, yes, it is the full intake system just like you see in the first picture except that you can have any silicone coupler color you like, red, blue or black.
The 2000 and 2002 had the worst MAF sensor out of all of the 5th gens. The 01 is the most reliable of them all. There is never a 0% chance of MAF failure, even if you are 100% stock. Some blame the intakes on MAF's blowing but I've seen almost as many MAF's blow on 100% stock cars. What is to blame, the intake or the MAF? There are too many factors involved.
The K&N and Apexi are the two best filters out there on the market. The K&N uses a oiled cotton type filtering media while the Apexi uses a dry cotton blend media. The Apexi filters better than the K&N and flows slightly better than the K&N. The only drawback is the price.
I have all of the above kits in stock.
Regards,
Bryan

Thank you so much. You cleared up many things for me! Now for a few more. Would this make the Max sound a bit different while accelerating and at idle? I'll take the Apexi, but later on in Sept when I have money. Thanks again.
Andy
i had 20000 on my apexi filter and i replaced it with a S&B filter. I love it. Apexi is nice but for that price, i can almost get 4 S&B filter.
I threw my 20000 apexi filter away.... sigh.. should have gave it away.
again thanks CobyMOby for the S&B

what year is your car? Did you have any trouble with you MAF? Thanks
Andy
My Max is a 2kSE.
And yes I did. I was having serious cold start and hesitation problems B4 the install that to dealers could not indentify for about a month. I never got a SES light and I believe that Nissan techs could not notice if you drove your car in with only 3 wheels on it if the ECU did not tell them.
When I installed the BERK I had all the blown MAF symptoms.
So I put on the stock intake and drove to my local Nissan. I picked up a new MAF and put it in. Cold start and hesitation was gone. Than I put the BERK back on w/ the new MAF and my car feels new again. The performance isn't earth shattering but it is noticable and it sounds great.
