Just nailed 14.1 @ 97 mph in my automagic

Wondering where this puts me amongst the drag racers here... havent been on the org a lot this summer, lost track of people. My only mods are cat-back, UDP, GAB w/K&N filter. Also used drop resistor mod.

Times for those interested:
r/t: .703
60': 2.153
330': 5.966
1/8: 9.117
MPH: 78.49
1000': 11.842
1/4: 14.162
MPH: 97.05

Not bad for the old automatic!

Did you leave it in 4 or shift? Ever been on a dyno?

Great Time!!

That is a great time for an auto with those mods, especially a GLE. Has anyone noticed that GLEs seem to be a little slower? or not. I have talked with several people with GLEs and all have consistently said that they have kicked it down against SEs of the same year and driveline (auto) and the SE will put a little distance on them.

I ask if anyone knows if there is any difference in the ECU or programming logic for the auto. I realize that the hardware is the same.

Sweet time man! Nice manual shifting that auto! I like doing it myself because you run it all the way to redline! Sweet run once again!

When I ran that time it was around 70 degrees with fairly low humidity. Very good weather for dragging. My next run the temp was down to 62 degrees (like 1.5 hours later) and i couldnt hook up. Ran a 14.4 but trapped at 97.5! My 60' on that one was 2.3xx tho.... oh but soooooooooo close to 13's. so close

I've raced an SE auto at the track before and I put distance on him thru 1st gear (my only mod was an UDP - thats most likely the reason). Then it was dead even. Like a mirror image of my car racing in the next lane.

Huh, maybe mine's just a little slow. A woman owned it before me so I will just keep driving the sh*t out of it and reset the computer a couple of times to see what happens.

At least I have someone to test against easily.

Tires are stock Turenzas actually... surprising huh? Kept them at regular pressure, 34 PSI

Drop resistor mod gave me around .15 or .2 if you can believe that... works wonders!

That is a very good time. How in the hell are you hitting 14.1 at 97 when I am trapping at 100 mph and getting a best of 14.2? What's your secret?

nice times man my best was a 14.6 at 94... this was with a cat back and JWT pop charger. my question to you is when you manualy shiffted you said you brought it all the way to redline did you keep the pedal to the floor while shiffting or did you lift off the gas then shift?

kept it on the floor. to avoid goin past redline and bounchin the rev limiter, you gotta shift a tad before the tach says you're at redline. There is a slight delay between you shifting and the car responding. Also do the drop resistor next time you go, I bet you drop at least 1 tenth

its a sensor that controls the shift of a automatic tranny. for us fourth gen's it located by the driver side shock tower. some people unplug it to make shifts quicker and stronger and some people make a switch so they can turn it on and off. its very similar to the valve body upgrade which helps the tranny also.

on 5th gens it is located in the same spot. I do NOT recommend driving around daily with this modification though, as it shifts way too hard. Only for WOT circumstances (such as 1/4 miling).

and thanks, ripper! now if only I could join the 100 mph club like you've done...

Ya, maybe next year. Should still have the Max - hoping to pick up a crotch rocket in the spring too, but that shouldnt hinder dragging the Max.... Wish I had a video of a couple of my runs, but my buddy who was gonna video didnt show up till like 9:15 or so, not quite enough time to get set up to video. Well, I'll be there again in the spring mostly likely. Will catch up wtih ya lata man!
