you might be able to burn that much.. if its a leak, look under the car where ever you park that may help.. get back to us with the reading..

When I start my car and the oil light flickers, I know I'm 1/2 bottle down. So I top it off the next time.

If I'm ignorant of the light when starting, it'll flicker at me when I'm doing high-G maneuvers... I guess the oil splashes around and doesn't get sensed...

as everyone said, check your oil level, if that's fine and your light still flickers like you're saying, then your oil pressure sending unit is probably going bad

Yes it is normal. You have no oil pressure in the car til the engine is running. Ignore the f50 guy.

Here's what mine does (not supporting, nor refuting you Dannytzo)

When I'm cranking, the oil light will be on. When I let go, oil light goes out

When I'm low on oil, oil will be on when cranking, and when I let go, it'll flicker once or twice more.

it may flicker once or twice after letting go because of the pressure i was tring to say... not because there is oil needed..

could be ur right but i dont think it might be that serious if it does not flash more often then when it starts and the oil pressure is low..

hey guys when is said hell no i meat that the oil light woulndt come on when u make a turn or brake real hard like he asked. sorry if it was missunderstood its like your gas tank for example u know when you bake and the gas moves all over the place in the tank? your gas needle dosent move cuz the computer only takes a sample of data once every couple of minutes.

Mine moves. As soon as I take a corner with a bit of speed the gas needles goes down a bit. In a minute or 2 it goes back.
