Question about rubbing w/my 4th gen

I'm currently running 20 x 8.5's with 245/35/20s I dont rub much at all, only when my wheel is cut all the way to the right and i'm backing up. The funny thing is I'm only rubbing in the front on one side, the left side. It doesn't seem to bad,but it has worn a groove through that protective plastic covering the end of the fender where you can see a little strip of the metal from the end of the fender exposed an a tiny groove in that. What im wondering is,if that groove gets deeper and sharper would it be enough to damage my tires and possibly give me a flat? thanks

sometimes you need too, like backing up around tight quarters, but what I really want to know is if that small tread from the metal of the car can damage my tire.

You can loosen your bump stops on the spindle to stop the wheel before it hits anything. OR you can just not turn the wheel all the way.

My tires used to rub on my REAR wheelwells. They stopped rubbing now.

I'm assuming you already took your wheelwells out, and if it's only rubbing on one side, check your suspension, one of your shocks or springs could be shot.

What exactly are the wheelwells? BTW,the shocks and suspension are fine,it's rubbing on the front driver's side, and it rubbed a groove through that little plastic protetice piece, now it's exposing metal from the car through the groove.
