For Injen Intake owners, here's how to get cooler air.

As you know our Injen intakes sit behind , alittle off to the side of the drivers side radiator fan which blows warm air into our system. Well if you neil down infront of your car and look through the mouth part of our car,and look at the right side of the radiator, there is a 3/4" space between the radiator and the frame of the car. If you look from the engine view, that space lets cooler air in right underneath the battery. For a test i had a shop fan blow from the front of the car into that 3/4" of space , more than enough air was passing through that space.
What i did , i cocked the intake pipe/w filter towards the drivers side fender, the filter should be somewhat underneath the battery. I checked to make sure through that 3/4" space i could see the filter. Perfect , but the next dilema was that the intake pipe/w filter was not lining up to the MAS flange and pipe. I loosen the clamps that holds the pipe where the elbow meets the trottle body, i proceeded to angle the pipe down and the flange met up with the pipe perfectly!Tighten the clamps and i put a thermometer in that area where the cooler air sits and took the car out for a spin.

Saturday is was about 93 degrees' w/ high humidity here in Fl, with normal driving 45mph, the temp read about 90-91 degrees. I proceeded to to go to an open road and test it , after doing about 70 mph(Fl highway speed)i stopped again to check it, it read 87-88 degrees. I let my car idle for 10 minutes and checked it with hood close , it was 97 degrees.

The new spot draws in much cooler air and stays cooler than anyother spot in the car. Because i have so many readings, i will say this, that the worst temps were above the engine, by the front manifold, rear manifold, the old spot where the intake use to sit at, all these spots where 100+ temp ranges.By the battery in the upper engine caompartment showed better results but not much, high 90 ish range....

I test drove it that evening and noticed slightly better low end response and better mid to high end pull. My mpg around town increased from 25.5 to 25.8 and i took my Max on the highway and got 26.4 to my usual 26.0 or 26.1.

I think it is ok to say that the Injen is a CAI if its placed where that 3/4" opening is to suck cooler outside air , if not then its a true WAI.

How can you get cooler air to the engine when the temp outside is 93 degrees?

Sorry guys ,i took pics but they came out really dark.Listen if you look behind the bottom grill area, and look toward your right, where the radiator is at, you can see a 3/4" open space next to it. Just **** your intake pipe that fits to the MAS flange over to the right and make sure the air filter is right behind that open space. Its real easy to look for and do. Sorry once again......

Correct but is butted up against the tranny check pull stick shaft, so it still has support.
